Progress!

So, I was a little over zealous when I got the last pieces painted, but I couldn't help it. Here's the one piece I have done until tomorrow or Friday. Let me know what you think of the color scheme!

Rain :(

So, due to some bad rain, I cant go forward on my model. I still have seven sprues that aren't fully painted, so there's no way I can even begin assembly. Sorry folks, but I'll continue as soon as possible.

Question: Anyone know what colors look best for lining on black panels? I'm assuming a gray... let me know!

Pictures!

Whoo hoo! I got the pictures to upload! Sorry about the poor quality. I'll be constructing a light box for the final product. Here's the art work on the box. Very nice if you ask me.

Here are the pieces on the sprue. These are the ones I've opted to paint black. I'm hoping to have these painted tomorrow, and then I'll wait a couple of days before cutting and assembling.

Here are the primed pieces, waiting for their final white and silver colors.

And there you have it. I seem to have forgotten about the clear and chromed pieces. I'll include them in a spread with the fully painted pieces.

Sadly, pictures wont happen today...

I cant get this to cooperate with me... I don't know why. Anyway, here's some light on my color scheme to keep you interested. As you could see from the previous post, I chose a different color scheme for the Exia. I'm going for a black and white "Arctic Exia", a GN-001AR if you will. Here's a bit of backstory.

The GN-001AR is Celestial Being's response to increased conflicts on the violent continent of Antarctica. This suit is equipped with the same armament as the GN-001, but has, in addition, a thermal blanket, designed to keep the machine warm while idle.

I hope I'll have the skill to make the blanket. I'm hoping to make it look similar to the anti-beam cloak on the Crossbone Gundam. I'm also hoping this will turn into part of a diorama someday. The blue on the normal Exia will now be black, along with the red and yellow. The knee armor will also be black. The white will stay white, and I think I'm going to swap the grey for a silver, and use that for the frame.

I did another 3 hours of priming and painting today, on and off between coats of course. That brings the total time up to 5 hours. I finished off the 3oz Testors primer, started on the 12oz, and finished a 3oz can of black Enamel.

Well, let me know what you think! I'm interested in some feedback, and some followers!

The first gunpla in my new collection. (Pics to come soon!)

I've recently gotten back into my favorite hobby. Needlepoint! Gunpla! I lost my previous collection due to some troubles my family where having at the time.

One feature I'll have on this blog is a running total of how much each model costs, in terms of money and time spent. I've always wondered myself, and maybe I'll help some new builders know what they're getting into. I won't be counting things like sandpaper, brushes, putty, etc.

I decided to start my new collection off right, with a shiny new 1/100 MG Exia Ignition mode.  This is the first time I'll be painting a Gundam, so I hope it'll turn out well. I'll be posting the first pictures of the primed parts on the sprue. Anyone with suggestions please, feel free to comment!
